electric proximity switches or sensors are primarily used when the object to be
metallic or non metallic. Photo electric sensors are three defferent type are
available- 1. Diffused type photo electric proximity switch. 2. Through beam type proximity switch 3. Retrorefrective type proximity switch. Working Principal of 1. Diffused Type Photo Electric Proximity Switches These type of proximity switch are contned emitter and receiver in one unit. When the emitter emites the infrared signal which is reflected from the surface of the object to be detected and received by the receiver and this will changed the output stage. 2. Through Beam Type Photo Electric Proximity Switches These type of proximity switches contaning seperat emitter and receiver, when emitter emit the infrared signal and coutiniously received by the recever when an object comes in between the emitter and receiver the siganal breck and changed the output signal. 3. Retroreflective type Photo Electric Proximity Switches These type of proximity switches contaning emitter and receiver in one unit and a reflector is used to reflect the zero diffused beam. When an object comes in between these two the beam is broken and the output will changed its signal Photo electric proximity switches are used to counting on conveyor belts, webtewar monitoring, sensing the end of a roll etc. |

Photoelectric proximity switches are sought
for reliable detection of objects within a defined scanning range on a conveyor
system. Objects, which reduce distance from scanning plane to sensor, are detected.
Scanning range / switching point can be set by adjusting sensitivity.
